Surfacing in ChatGPT & Google AI Mode

Our stance: every business owner has different needs. We don’t apply one playbook to everyone. We find the real constraint, do the work in the right order, and let you decide how far to take it.

The results, in context

Starting from almost nothing, the priority was a credible foundation that compounds. The new site and Google Business Profile gave the brand a place to rank; press releases and citations started earning referring domains (181 and counting); and the content is already surfacing in AI answer engines (ChatGPT and Google’s AI Mode), which increasingly decide who gets recommended. Google Ads, launched on an initial Google promo, kept leads flowing while the organic base built underneath it.

What's working well

  • A fast, service-specific website with per-service and per-town pages: a real local-SEO base
  • Clear trust signals: license number, insurance, and a project gallery
  • A live multi-platform footprint (Google, social, review sites) with consistent contact details
  • Early press placement and a growing backlink profile for a young domain
  • Already surfacing in AI search results, not just traditional listings

What's still on the table

  • Review volume and velocity: the fastest trust win for a new local brand
  • Short-form video (job walkthroughs, panel and EV-charger installs) for video and AI results
  • Deeper, unique content on each town page to strengthen map-pack rankings
  • More directory citations (BBB, Angi, Nextdoor) to build local authority
  • Tightening Google Ads for a lower, steadier cost per lead

Why the approach matters

Why a documented game plan matters

A brand-new trades presence has no history to lean on, so the pieces have to compound in order: a credible site earns trust for the Google profile; the profile earns reviews; reviews and citations make ad spend more efficient; and video earns trust with both people and AI search. Skipping ahead to ads or social without the foundation just burns money.

Why getting involved multiplies it

The single highest-leverage move here is the hardest to fake: the licensed owner on camera, explaining real work. Short video is exactly what populates Google’s video results, YouTube and TikTok search, and AI answers, and it’s the one lever only the owner can pull. The foundation is built; participation is what accelerates it.

Questions this raises

We're a small trades business. Do we really need all this?

You need the right pieces in the right order, not everything at once. A credible site and Google profile come first because they make everything else (reviews, ads, referrals) work better. We build the foundation, then add only what moves the needle for your market.

Do we have to be on social media and video?

Nothing forces it, but for trades, short video of real jobs is the highest-return content there is, and it’s increasingly how both Google and AI search decide who to show. We make it easy; you decide the pace.

Are Google Ads worth it for us?

They’re useful for immediate leads while your organic presence builds, which is exactly how we used them here. But ads are most efficient once the site, profile, and reviews give them something credible to point to.

How do you measure progress on a brand-new site?

By the foundation compounding: keywords ranked, referring domains earned, reviews gained, and whether you’re surfacing in local and AI search, not a single vanity number.
